About this event
In our Fact Sheet we examine India’s history since its independence from Britain, long-term challenges to democracy and the implications of Modi’s governance for India’s future. We also discuss the implications for India’s relationship with the US, which has in recent years sought to strengthen economic and military ties with India and considers it a strategic bulwark against a rising and increasingly militant China.
