While we often think of 2025 as an “off” election year, it is important to note that more than a dozen cities and villages in Montgomery County will be holding local elections this year. Check here for a list of Next Elections list.

Recent developments test the strength of our government’s system of checks and balances. It also tests its responsiveness to citizens concerned about the radical upsetting of programs established by laws and funded through appropriations approved by Congress.

At the LWVUS 2024 Convention, delegates voted to proceed with a study on the federal judiciary. The study will be completed on 

a fast-track timeline in time for a position to be announced at the LWVUS Council in June 2025.
