It is the principle global intergovernmental body exclusively devoted to promoting women’s rights, documenting the reality of women’s lives throughout the world, and shaping global standards on gender equality and the empowerment of women.
The League of Women Voters of the United States has been an active participant in the CSW meetings since its inception in 1946; presenting and commenting at Commission meetings, sponsoring panels and events, and having League members involved and in attendance.
