Empowering Voters - Defending Democracy
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization working to protect and expand voting rights and ensure everyone is represented in our democracy.
We empower voters and defend democracy through advocacy, education, and litigation at the local, state, and national levels.

HomeSpeakers Bureau
LWVMC Speakers Bureau

The League provides speakers for Montgomery County-based clubs, neighborhood associations, residential communities, and other groups to explain public policy issues and processes related to elections and voting. These include the Electoral College, gerrymandering, ranked choice voting, and voter registration procedures.

In election years, we provide explanations of ballot questions being presented to voters, including arguments in favor of and opposed to each question. In the Fall 2026 General Election, there are three ballot questions regarding proposed amendments to the Maryland constitution. These address binding arbitration for contracts with state government employees, temporary appointments to the Commission on Judicial Disabilities, and standards for drawing of congressional district lines. Our speakers will be available to address these ballot questions.

Request a speaker for your event using this form: Voter Services/Speakers Bureau Request.
