  Elected Officials

Federal, state and county officials are elected to represent and serve you, their constituents. These officials include U.S. senators and representatives, governor, state senators and delegates, county executive, county council members and more.  You are encouraged to contact them on issues that are important to you.
  Who Are My Elected Officials?

The U.S. Congress, Maryland General Assembly and Montgomery County establish legislative voting districts. Through voting, citizens who live in these districts elect the individuals who will represent them at each level of government. The first step in identifying your elected officials is to identify your voting districts.

(1) Type your name into the name search on the Maryland Board of Elections website.  On the results page, select the "My Voting Districts" pull-down menu. If you are not registered to vote, you can use the name search page to register.

(2) Once you know your voting districts, you can match them up to the list of elected officials.

  • The federal and state elected officials that represent you can be located by entering your complete address into the search box at  mdelect.net
  • Your county, state and federal elected officials' contact information can be found in a League-created directory. Download and print it for future reference.
