Become a Member Today.

Joining the League of Women Voters is a great way to get involved in your community and play an active role in our democracy. League members work to register new voters, host local community forums and debates, and provide voters with election information they need. We engage at the local and state levels on legislative issues. After study and member agreement, we use our positions to advocate for or against particular policies in the public interest.

We welcome new members age 16 and older of all races, genders, religions and socioeconomic backgrounds. We seek to expand our diversity in order to broaden our perspective and better serve all communities.

What Will I Get?

You will be joining a highly respected, non-partisan and grassroots organization with over 100 years of providing voter services and advocacy in Montgomery County. You will be part of the 450+ membership comprised of women, men, and students. You will also be a member of the national, Maryland and National Capital Area Leagues and have access to all their resources and publications.

Your League membership provides you with many opportunities to join us in nonpartisan activities focused on developing more engaged citizens and creating a more transparent government.

LWVMC is a 501(c) 3 and all dues and donations are tax deductible.

Do I Have to Volunteer?

You decide if and at what level you want to volunteer. It is up to you.

We value those members whose participation consists of paying their annual dues and making donations to support the League’s work. Others who wish to take a more active role may choose from a range of activities, including joining study committees or volunteering for voter registration drives or helping in the office. And others choose to just attend our educational offerings. It’s your choice.

When the League testifies at County Council your membership alone provides the political influence needed for citizen impact.

Membership Levels

Individual:

$ 75

Household:

$ 112.50

1 individual membership ($75) and a 2nd person at the same address at half price ($37.50)

Student:

$20 Waived

Free membership is open to full-and part-time students at an accredited institution

Additional contributions are always welcome.
If joining online, credit card fees will be added at checkout.
